June 12th
I had a great sleep (wink, wink), went to sleep at 2 AM, woke up at six. To make matters worse the morning even shinier, I missed not just one, but two (2) buses №39 – if you can call that cattle wagon a bus, that is.
2003/06/12 8:00 UTC+2 Still in Bratislava. And still nothing newsworthy.
Fortunately, I had a plenty time to spare. Eventually, I got from Mlynská dolina (loosely translates to Mill Valley) to the bus station at Mlynské Nivy (Mill Meadows) alright. Despite the apparent toponymical similarity these two city parts are not related and you have to cross half of Bratislava to get there. Finally at the station, I boarded an old socialist bus air-conditioned Mercedes.
2003/06/12 8:20 UTC+2 Still in Bratislava. More precisely, in a bus in Bratislava.
Suddenly I was hit by a bout of panic attack, almost angst. What happened?
Five minutes later it hit me. F*$&ing, I mean freezing air-conditioning. I had never ever ridden an air-conditioned bus before. The hum in combination with the cold brought on a terrible headache. Luckily, it’s only one hour until the airport.
